Alexandra Gertrude (Backer) Epps

Alexandra Gertrude Epps, 61, passed on the 2nd of August, 2022 at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Tucson in the presence of her husband and son. Alex was born to Alfred and Astrid Bäcker in Frankfurt am Main Germany on January 18th ,1961. There she studied industrial design and childhood psychology and met her husband, Terry Epps. In 1982 on May 27th they married in Copenhagen, Denmark; celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this year. After leaving Germany, Alex supported her husband’s many military moves from New York to Alaska. Ultimately settling down in Sierra Vista where together they raised their son Dominic. Alex was a memorable and outgoing woman who loved to cook, craft, and decorate the house for every season of the year. She inspired so many through her compassion and wonderful sense of humor. Her presence in this world will be sorely missed by those who knew her; but they are lucky to carry on her sharp wit and fighting spirit in their hearts and memories. She is survived by her husband Terry, and son Dominic (and daughter-in-law, Shannen). In lieu of flowers a charitable donation to the local animal shelter or to a charity is suggested.

Alex will be laid to rest in a private ceremony in Germany.
