It is with a heavy heart the NETCOM Team regretfully announces the passing of retired Army Chief Warrant Officer 5 Alberto A. M. Morrison on 13 September 2021. The Morrison family would be honored if you would help memorialize Alberto at his memorial services:

• Visitation - Monday September 20th from 1600-1900 hrs at the Hatfield Funeral Home, 830 AZ-92, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635.

• Funeral - Tuesday September 21st, St Andrews the Apostle Parish Church, 800 Taylor Drive, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635: 1000 hrs for rosary, 1030 hrs for mass.

• Burial ceremony at 1200 hrs at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial is 1300 S. Buffalo Soldier Trail, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635.

• His spouse Shylo asks that all attendees wear masks.

• She also asks that instead of flowers, for people to donate to two of Al's favorite charities: Boulder Crest and the VFW.

Retired Army Chief Warrant Officer 5 Alberto A. M. Morrison is the former Senior Communications and Electronics Warrant Officer, Network Enterprise Technology Command

CW5 Al Morrison enlisted in 1990 as a Radio Repairer and in 2000, received appointment as an Electronic Systems Warrant Officer.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership.  He was skilled in Knowledge Management, Mission Command Systems, Special Operations Support, and is a certified Army instructor/writer and Presidential Communications Officer.  CW5 Morrison completed Airborne and Air Assault training; the Senior Leader Seminar, U.S. Army War College; and is a distinguished graduate of the Warrant Officer Senior Service Education, Warrant Officer Career College.

CW5 Morrison was commissioned in 2002 and his assignments include avionics support for 1-6 CAV (Apache), Camp Eagle, Korea; communications systems support for 514th Signal Company (Long-Range Extension)(Airborne) and 50th Signal Battalion (Corps)(Forced Entry) (Airborne); weapons and electronics for 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, NC; and network equipment readiness for 11th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade, Fort Huachuca, AZ.  He then served as Chief of Army Warrant Officer Leader Development at the Center for Army Leadership, Fort Leavenworth, KS, followed by a tour sustaining the CONUS network at 7th Signal Command (Theater), Fort Gordon, GA.  CW5 Morrison was then nominated to serve as the Command Chief Warrant Officer at the White House Communications Agency, Washington D.C., and retired from his assignment as the senior communications and electronics chief at Network Enterprise Technology Command, Fort Huachuca, AZ in July 2019.

CW5 Morrison directly supported the Hurricane Andrew humanitarian relief effort and has volunteered hundreds of hours in benefit of children with muscular dystrophy. His combat deployments include Combined/Joint Task Force 180, Afghanistan (2002); two tours with the Combined/Joint Special Operations Task Force – Afghanistan (2004, 2006); direct support to numerous USSOUTHCOM counter-narco terrorism missions; and a 15-month surge rotation with Task Force Thunderbird (Theater Network), Iraq (OIF 07-09). 

CW5 Morrison’s awards and decorations include three Bronze Star Medals, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, six Meritorious Service Medals, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement and Good Conduct Medals, two National Defense Service Medals, the Afghanistan and Iraq Campaign Medals, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, Korean Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteerism Service Medal, NATO medal, Presidential Service Badge, Driver & Mechanic’s Badge, German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency (Gold),  and received both the Bronze Order of Mercury from the CIO G-6 and Ordnance Order of Samuel L. Sharpe from the Chief of Ordnance.

Chief Morrison retired from the U.S. Army in 2019 after serving more than 29 years of dedicated and faithful service.  He is survived by his spouse Lt. Col. Shylo R. Morrison and their two children, Auston and Berlyn.
