Tucson-Martin Ellis Shapiro, 76, of Sierra Vista passed away on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Tucson Medical Center. Martin son of the late Jerome and Sadie Rose (Kaplan) Shapiro was born in Worcester on September 25, 1943.
Raised in Worcester he graduated from the former Classical High School. He obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Brooks University in Santa Barbara, California.
Martin proudly served his country with the United States Marines for 25 years and during the Vietnam War and obtained the rank of Corporal. He also worked on Fort Huachuca as a classified photographer.
He has resided in Sierra Vista for the past 40 years and was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Harley Davidson Club.
He is survived by his wife Yukun Shapiro; a son, Caleb Shapiro (Kaylin); a daughter, Leah Shapiro; a sister, Bernice Dworman (Barry); a brother, Gary Shapiro; two grandchildren, Carson and Katrina Shapiro.
Services with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 11 am at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1300 Buffalo Soldier Trail, Sierra Vista.
