Mario "Big Mac" Lopez
September 25, 2003 - June 24, 2019

Mario Laro L-Lopez, 15, was taken from our world too soon Monday, June 24, 2019. We know the Lord welcomed him with open arms as we are sure Mario entered playfully saying as he often did here, “The man of the house is home.” Mario was a loving and devoted grandson, son, brother, nephew, friend and more. He was the epitome of greatness in the making with big aspirations, and the potential to surpass any goal he set to achieve.

Mario had the heart of a warrior, and nonetheless a kind, gentle, humble soul. He always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. He had a passion for sports and loved spending time with family and friends. Set to start his sophomore year at Buena High, Mario was a great student-athlete. He was a member of the varsity football and wrestling teams as a freshman; and with the training and mentorship of his Uncle Nuggets (Humberto Lopez), Mario placed 5th in the Arizona state wrestling championships. He also did yard work to earn his own money.

Mario always said, “I love my Nana more than anything,” and he would do anything to please her.
The family trusts the Lord has a plan for us all and it was Mario’s time to join the everlasting. We pray Mario rests peacefully and continues his life in spirit; a spirit that lives on forever and never forgotten.

Mario survived by his grandparents, Dolores (Lola) and Samuel Morales and Frances (Lu) Martinez; parents, Pancho and Tania L-Lopez and Ernestina Martinez; brothers and sisters, Uiki, Oscar, Lena, Alex, Ramiro, Angel; aunts and uncles, Jessie, Trina, Cisco, Uikki, Mary, and Trini; cousins, Elysia, Leila, Frank, David, Diamond, and Shannica; and so much more family.

Special thanks to everyone, especially the Lopez and Martinez/Hickman families.
