Jim Hodges, 88, of Hereford, Arizona. Passed away on March 16, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family, He was born on Sept 8, 1935 to Ernest and Eloise Hodges in Truman, Arkansas.
At 5 years old the family moved to Corona, California. Then when he was seven he moved to Jackson, Michigan, . Where he grew up and joined the Army in July of 1954. He served in Japan, Germany, Vietnam, and Fort Huachuca. In October of 1982 he retired.
After retirement he played golf all over Arizona and enjoyed yearly trips with the Huachuca Duffers. He also enjoyed working as a mechanic. He loved working on cars, motorcycles, and any motor. He was a jack of all trades helping many people with various projects. He really enjoyed camping in the RV with our camping group, also enjoyed hunting deer and fishing. Jim loved to tell jokes and had lots of them. He was also an excellent storyteller especially about all his favorite army experiences and life growing up.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Joe, his grandson Thomas, three sisters, and five brothers. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 ½ years, Janice. His daughters Brigitta (Richie) Costello; Lisa (Todd) Desy; and Karen Duren.
He always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Also he loved and spoiled his faithful dachshund, Pluto. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren, Tyler, Amanda, James, Anthony, Alison, Thomas & Alexis, as well as seven great grandchildren.
Jim's funeral services will be held on April 5th 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church. He will be interred in the Mother Theresa Columbarium. Our family thanks all who cared for and visited him throughout his many years on this Earth!
