George Rector Fitts II

   Sierra Vista-George R. Fitts, 72, of Sierra Vista passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2019
surrounded by his family at his home. George, son of the late George R. and Mary Jane (Price)
Fitts was born in York, Pennsylvania on August 16, 1946.

   Raised in York he graduated from Central High School, York, Pennsylvania, and from Western
New Mexico University. He worked as a teacher at York High School teaching history. He then
went on to teach automotive technology at Wyoming Technical Institute.

   He loved racing motorcycles and owned Keystone Motorcycle Roadrace team. He also managed
The Train Shed and RC car race track at his home in Pennsylvania until moving to Sierra Vista.
He was a Charter Life member of the American Motorcyclist Association.

   George has resided in Sierra Vista for the past year and a half and was a life member of the
American Motorcycle Association.

   In addition to his parents George was predeceased by his sister Mary Frances Sheckler. He is
survived by his wife, Bonnie S. (Bell) Fitts; a stepson, Michael J. Kohler and wife Tanya, four
grandchildren, Cameron, Courtney, Mercedes, and Vincent; a nephew, Michael Sheckler and a
niece, Beverly Raissi.

   A funeral home service for George will be held on Friday June 21, 2019 at 11:00 am at Hatfield
Funeral Home, 830 South Highway 92, Sierra Vista. Burial will be private in Wyoming. A visiting
hour for George will precede his funeral on Friday from 10 to 11 am. In lieu of flowers memorial
contributions in Georges’ memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box
22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123, and the American Heart Association, 2601 North Campbell
Ave, Suite 204, Tucson, AZ, 85719.

My sympathies to your family at this time of deep sorrow. Death of a loved one brings great sadness but our Heavenly Father promises us that he will bring us comfort at Isaiah 51:12. I hope that family, friends and your memories will bring you a measure of peace and calm.
