Sierra Vista-Armando Monge Acosta, 69, of Sierra Vista passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2019 in Sierra Vista. Armando, son of the late Federico and Ana P. (Monge) Acosta was born in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico on May 26, 1950.

Armando was raised and educated in Agua Prieta. He resided in Los Angeles, California, in Arizona for 49 years and the past 30 years in Sierra Vista and was a communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church.

Armando was employed as a machine operator for 28 years at Young Block Company. He loved music, classic cars, baseball, but most importantly his family.

Armando is survived by his wife, Maria J. (Valenzuela) Acosta; five sons, Armando M. Acosta, Jr., Daniel A. Acosta (Priscilla), Xavier A. Acosta (Jenny), Jesus A. Acosta (Maegan), and Charlie A. Acosta; a brother, Humberto Acosta; two sisters, Martha R. Morales and Yolanda Monge; and fifteen grandchildren.

A funeral home service for Armando will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 11:00 am at Hatfield Funeral Home, 830 South Highway 92, Sierra Vista. Rites of Committal and Interment will follow in Cochise Memory Gardens, Charleston Road, Sierra Vista. A visiting hour for Armando will precede the service on Saturday from 10 to 11 am.
